For the last several years, Glen Raven has cultivated collaborative partnerships with nonprofits, focused on children and education. Partnerships are chosen by a team of associates in each Glen Raven community – because we believe they know the needs of their community best.
In year three of many of these partnerships, associates in each community have cultivated deep roots with these organizations through volunteerism, board service and donations throughout the year. This year, our team was proud to activate these partnerships in a new way, through the rollout of the Glen Raven Impacting Communities Fund.
Open only to existing partners, funds from this grant were intended to support a project at each nonprofit that would support children or education – but would have otherwise gone unfunded. Each nonprofit identified a specific need, then Glen Raven provided funds, and in some cases manpower, to get the job done.
At Hillcrest Elementary School in Burlington, NC, funds provided a brand new outdoor classroom. Over the summer, members of the Marketing team helped build the classroom, moving mulch and cleaning the interior of the school.
Other partners used funds to create a beautiful outdoor garden, to ensure kids and families had meals after Hurricane Helene, and to support children impacted by abuse.
“We’re excited to give these grants away annually,” said Kelly May, Manager of Community Relations at Glen Raven. “Our goal is to invest in these partnerships for years to come and when we can help fund tangible needs through grants, we want to provide that support that creates positive environments for children.”
